Building Inspections
Before you buy a house for living or investing, it is
important to get the property thoroughly inspected. This basically involves
inspection of all sections of the house like the walls, ceilings, roof, paving,
garage etc to determine if the state of the property.
Although you could do the inspection, it is highly
recommended to use professionals to conduct the inspection, as they have proper
knowledge in the industry. After the inspection is conducted, you would normally
receive a building inspection report which outlines the state the property, any
structural issues or defect that exist.
Minor defects like corrosion, cracking etc are common to
properties, over a period of time this in unavoidable and should not deter you
buying the property. But any serious defects like structural issues should be
seriously considered before buying the property as it can be a very expensive
exercise to fix them.
Most to the inspections will not have every aspect of the
property inspected as this could take a long time to complete, you should
consider few other things that might not be part of the inspection before buying
the property like termite inspections which can be carried out by a pest control
firm, Electrical inspections by a licensed electrician etc.
All the above could be applied to both new and existing
properties, but inspecting a new property could be differ slightly.
